Intersex is an umbrella term for naturally occurring diversity in our sex characteristics which we are born with.
Intersex people are cultural beings and must be recognised as being part of society and that means being afforded the same rights to be seen and to exist.

Campaigning
Working with Walnut Unlimited, Intersex Equality Rights has undertaken initial research to understand the population size of people with diverse sex characteristics in the UK.
Early research indicates intersex people make up c. 3% of the UK population. The next stage of our research will explore the lived experience.
